She was reared in Dry Fork and Vernal, graduating from Uintah High. She excelled in art, having one of her drawings hang in school for thirty years. She was in .basketball, dance, plays, opera and the pep club. Mable was the oldest girl of 14, taking on domestic duties and acquiring maternal instincts at an early age. Making bread, scubbing floors and sewing was already common by age five. After her marriage to Dick, they lived in nine states which stretched from California to Tennessee.
Mable returned to Vernal to rear her family. She was their sole support, eventually working for the USGS and then going into Tupperware and LaVoy dealerships. Her first year she took state as top Tupperware dealer. In church she served as Sunday School and MIA teacher and was secretary of the Primary for many years. She also served as a magazine representative, was secretary to the bishop, a long time choir member, a visiting teacher for over 30 years, a newspaper editor and was on the Stake MIA Board. She is a 40 year Election Judge and DUP member, being County and Camp secretary, Camp Captain, and other positions. She loves working in her yard, helping others and going to the temple. She enjoys anything refined and uplifting and just being with people. Her Ilife has been one of service. She cared for her mother until her death and for her father for some thirty years. Nieces and nephews have found love and shelter in her home. She has a way of invoking youth with selfconfidence and high ideals.
