VERNAL--LaPreal Massey Southam, 80, passed away at her home on August 29, 1999, from cancer.

She was born October 10, 1918 in Dry Fork, Utah to Van and Mabel Thacker Massey. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in various teaching positions.She is survived by her husband, Grant Southam; children, Dorothy (Roland) Hein, Lyle (Polly Anna) Southam; and Wade (Deborah) Southam all of Vernal; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, 11 a.m. at the Vernal First Ward LDS Chapel, 250 North 200 West. Friends may call at Thomson's Vernal Mortuary on Wednesday evening, 6-8 p.m. and Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of Thomson's Vernal Mortuary.
