LIONEL ODELL BROOKS
BLUFF - Lionel Odell Brooks, 88, of Bluff, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012.
Mr. Brooks was born April 26,1923 in Madison County. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Brooks was a lifelong Honorary Member of Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department and a deacon for over 40 years at Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave Odell and Gertrude RobertsBrooks; daughters, Phyllis Hunter and Shirley Speight and 11 brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Agnes Fleming Brooks, of the home; daughter, Nancy Wilson (Mike), of Leicester; grandchildren, Candida Askew (Brady), Misty Peek (Philip), Jonathan Hunter (Kelly), Danni Speight, C.J. and Stephanie Wlson; great-grandchildren, Chase and Cole Askew, Taylor and Mason Peek, Matthew Hunter and Kyah Speight; sisters, Jean Dunlap, Nina Lee Brooks and Mary Ruth Sams; brother Rex
Brooks; son-in-laws, Harold Hunter and Tommy Speight; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverends Frank Wllett and Dewayre Tweed Officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
