Born in Bluff, NC, she was a daughter of the late David O’Dell and Gertie Roberts Brooks.
Laura was a weaver in the textile industry. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Clouse (John) and Sharon Jackson; two sons, David Dunlap (Kim) and Samuel Dunlap (Cathy); six grandchildren, Jason Clouse, Gregory and Sean Jackson, Dustin and Dylan Dunlap, and Amanda Dionne; and two sisters, Mary Ruth Sams and Nina Lee Brooks.
