SANFORD – Mrs. Alice Beal Goodwin, 66, of Country Club Road No. 2, Sanford, died suddenly Sunday at the home of a daughter in Sanford.

She was born in Newfield, September 11, 1911, the daughter of David and Annie (Durgin) Beal. She had lived in the Sanford area for the past 60 years.

Mrs. Goodwin was employed for many years as a stitcher with the Allied Shoe Co., Sanford, retiring in 1960.

Surviving are two sons, Melton E. Goodwin of Alfred, and Dana C. Goodwin of Sanford; two daughters, Mrs. Clayton (Bernice) Gammon of Sanford and Mrs. Robert (Fay) Precourt of Springvale; two brothers, Perley Beal of Lyman and Norman Beal of Escandido, Calif.; three sisters, Miss Nina Beal and Mrs. Daisy Pauquette, both of Springvale and Mrs. Cora Swan of Sanford; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Springvale. The Rev. Paul F. Kierstead will officiate and interment will be in Forest Grove Cemetery, North Lebanon.

Calling hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
