Mrs. Rose Beal Gillis, 76, of Hillcrest drive, died Saturday at a local nursing home.
She was born in Shapleigh January 9, 1898, daughter of David and Annie Durgin Beal, and was a lifelong resident of the Sanford area.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Florence Gammon of Standish; two brothers, Perley Beal of Goodwins Mills and Norman Beal of Sanford; four sisters, Mrs. Daisy Paquette and Miss Nina Beal of Springvale and Mrs. Alice Goodwin and Mrs. Cora Swan of Sanford; tow grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Heald Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Springvale, with the Rev. Chandler M. Holmes, pastor of the North Waterboro Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in Oakdale Cemetery.
