SHAWLEY - Mrs. Shawley, 83, of 907 4th Ave., Juniata, died at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1993, at Mercy Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Shawley retired as a housekeeper from Altoona Hospital in 1903, after 16 years’ service. She was born Aug. 23, 1909, in Bellwood, the daughter of David and Mary (Close) Wilson. She married Fred W. Shawley on Dec. 11, 1920, in Ebensburg. He died March 28, 1978. Surviving are five children: Phyllis Moyer and Marjorie Bowman of Juniata, Janet Kibe of Greenwood, Albert of Pinecroft and Baren of Bellwood: 28 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister and a brother: Elizabeth Ingram of Juniata and Kessler of Altoona, Mrs. Shawley attended Christ United Methodist Church, Tyrone. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone. SHAWLEY — Services for Laura P. Shawiey of 907 4th Ave., Juniata, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone, by the Rev. Dale E. Parker. Interment at Logan Valley Cemetery, Antis Township. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 1 p.m. until the time of services Friday at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Simmers Hospital for Crippled Children, 8400 Roosevelt Blvd., Philadelphia, 19152. Preceded in death by two sons: Fred and Bill and a sister, Cora Boyles.
