He was born December 27, 1940 in Altoona, a son of Fred and Laura (Wilson) Shawley. On December 21, 1963 in Greenwood he married Marjorie Yon. She died May 20, 1999.
Surviving are four sons, Russell Yohn of Carson Valley, Albert Jr. of Bellwood, Robert and wife Jonie of Madera, Ronald and wife Lisa of Bellwood, two daughters Brenda Learn and husband Gary of Houtzdale, Peggy Shawley of Houtzdale, fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, step-children Carl Hardy of Houtzdale, Tonia Hardy of Tyrone, Dalton Hardy of Altoona, Tammy DeAngelo of Texas, nine step-grandchildren, his girlfriend Sandy Hardy of Altoona, a brother Baron Shawley of Bellwood and a sister Janet Kibe of Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by three brothers George, Bill and Fred and three sisters Phyllis Moyer, Marge Bowman and Kathy Shawley.
Mr. Shawley retired in 1977 from Ebensburg Coal Mine #33 as a blaster following 33 years service. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Bellwood.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday October 20, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Feller Memorial Home. Interment will follow at Logan Valley Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M.
