OBITUARY from Tyrone Daily Herald May 22, 1999 page 2 - Marjorie L. Shawley "Enjoyed gardening and sewing" Marjorie L. Shawley, 61. of RD 1 Altoona, died Thursday. May 20, 1999 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born April 8, 1938 in Greenwood, a daughter of Russell and Elizabeth (Noye) Adams. She was twice married, first to Ralph E. Yon Jr., then on December 21, 1963 in Greenwood she married Albert D. Shawley Sr. Surviving are her husband, four daughters: Wanda Kirkpatrick, of Tyrone, Brenda Shawley, of Altoona, Cindy Zitch, of Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia, and Peggy Grassmyer, of Bellwood; six sons: Norman Yon, of Harrisburg, Russell Yon of Altoona. Albert Shawley Jr. and Jeff Nagle, both of Bellwood, and Robert Shawley and Ronald Shawley, both at home. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and three sisters: Helen Muir and Emma Butterbaugh, both of Altoona, and Barbara McClellan, of Juniata Gap. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles. Mrs. Shawley was a member of Pinecroft United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing, and collecting butterflies. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 24, 1999 at 2 p.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Peggy Bonsell officiating. Interment will follow at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. Friends will be received on Sunday, May 23, at Feller Memorial Home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
