Mary Elizabeth Faunce, my great grand aunt, was born about October 15, 1846 in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of David and Mary Franklin Faunce. She married William F. Eggleton about 1862, probably in Philadelphia. Mary and William lived in Philadelphia where William was employed as a fireman. Mary and William had four children; W Y Eggleton, William Laurence Eggleton, Albert L, Eggleton and Estella May (Stella) Eggleton. In 1870 and 1880, they were living with William's parents. In 1900, they were living at 1106 East Palmer Street and were the head of the household. Their elder children and families were living with Mary and William.

They were living at 1112 E. Palmer Street when William died of chronic kidney disease on February 28, 1908. Her son William and family, and her single daughter Stella are living with her in 1910 at 1112 E. Palmer Street. By 1920 she was living with her daughter Stella and Stella's husband of ten years at 507 E Allegheny Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mary died on October 4, 1925. She was living at 507 E Allegheny Avenue. She was buried in the North Cedar Hill Cemetery.
