The person who transcribed the Return of A Death in the City of Philadelphia for familysearch.org said his name was Georgeana Faunce and that his race was ‘M'. Ancestry.com, who I believed bought the transcription from familysearch.org, also said his name was Georgeana Faunce but that his race was ‘multiple'.
As you can see from the picture on the right, the child is a male but his race is not ‘multiple', it is white. His name is more difficult to decipher but it is not Georgeana. The first three letters are definitely ‘Geo' and the fourth letter appears to be an ‘i'. The fifth letter may be missing. If not, the fifth letter may be a ‘t' or a ‘l'. The name looks to me as Geoiter but I have never seen anyone named Geoiter. I have decided to go with Geo. until someone can help me with his real name.
He and his mother were living at 1105 Montgomery Avenue when he died on August 17, 1864. His father was serving in the Union Army at that time. He was buried in the Palmer Grounds on August 19.
