William Henry Faunce, my great grand uncle, the son of David and Mary A. Franklin Faunce, was born in Philadelphia about August 1848. In 1870, he was living with his grandmother, Elizabeth Franklin and worked as a glassblower. He lived with his Aunt, Martha Franklin Chester, in 1880 and was employed as a laborer.

At the age of 33, he married Mary [maiden name is unknown] in about 1881. They lived at 2429 East Dauphin Street, Philadelphia where he worked as a day laborer in 1900. They had one child, William Caleb Faunce. I do not know what happened to Mary but William died at 2429 East Dauphin Street on April 23, 1902 of Phthisis Pulmonalis (sic). Phthisis is pulmonary tuberculosis and pulmonale is failure of the right side of the heart brought on by long-tern high blood pressure. He was buried from 2429 East Dauphin Street on April 27, 1902 in the North Cedar Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia.
