My great grand aunt, Joanna [1870 census] or Joana [1860 census] Faunce is the daughter of David and Mary A. Franklin Faunce. She was born in Philadelphia about 1852. In 1870, it appears she was working as a domestic servant for the Weeks family. On March 23, 1871, Joanna Faunce married William H. Barcley [My translation of the document. The ancestry.com translation is Barclay.] They were married at the First Independent Christian Church in Philadelphia.
In 1880, William H and Johana Barkley were living on Cook Street in Philadelphia with their three children Joseph F, Sarah W and Mary Ann. William was a laborer. On July 3, 1885, Johanna Barckly, while living at 1237 Montgomery Avenue, died of Phthisis Pidmonalis (sic). Johanna Barckley of 1137 Montgomery Avenue was buried in the Palmer Grounds on July 8.
