Byron G. Mauzy, a retired employe of Delco Battery Division of General Motors, died shortly after midnight today at his home, 2105 N. Locust St.

He is a brother of Ruth Mauzy McFadden, society editor of the Muncie Evening Press.

He was born in Rush County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer G. Mauzy and came to Muncie with his parents in 1904. He attended Muncie schools and was graduated from Muncie High School.

A longtime employe of the Muncie General Motors plant, her retired April 1, 1958.

He is survived by the wife, Mildred; a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Gideon of Greenville, S.C.; two grandchildren, Suzanne and Wood III; five sisters, Mrs. Donald G. Holmes, Mrs. Ralph Dragoo, Mrs. Herschel Steck, Mrs. D.C. Simes, and Mrs. McFadden, and a brother, Paul F. Mauzy, all of Muncie.

Mr. Mauzy was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Murpah Shrine Club, the Scottish Rite and the Colorama Camera Club.

Services will be at the Meeks Mortuary at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with burial following in Gardens of Memory. Friends may call at the mortuary after 1 p.m. Friday and prior to the services Saturday.
