Rosabel Mauzy Holmes, 75, 107 Alden Road, widow of Donald G. Holmes, died Thursday in Ball Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Holmes was born in Muncie, the daughter of Homer G. and Rosa White Mauzy, attended McKinley Elementary School, graduated from Muncie High School, and attended Muncie Normal Institute, now Ball State.

Mrs. Holmes was a secretary in the office of Dr. Elmer T. Cure many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and was formerly active in numerous philanthropic projects.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Chesly (Ethyl) Simes, and Mrs. William (Ruth Mauzy) McFadden, both of Muncie; two nieces, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Heeter, Muncie, and Mrs. Woodrow (Sarah) Gideon, Greenville, S.C.; two nephews, Robert D. Simes and Thomas H. Steck, Muncie; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Paul (Jane) Mauzy, and Mrs. Byron (Mildred) Mauzy, both of Muncie.

Her husband, who was a Delco Remy executive, died in 1966.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Meeks Mortuary with Dr. Lewis Weber Gishler officiating. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Friends may call at the mortuary from 2-5 p.m. today and an hour before services Saturday.
