Elmer H. Barnes, 72, of 2023 Ridge Road, New Enterprise, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Altoona Hospital. Born July 3, 1929, in Layfette Hill, a son of the late Dosie and Maye (Ackers) Barnes. He married T. Josephene Wareham Sept. 17, 1949, in Breezewood. Surviving are his wife; a son, George W. Ebersole; a sister, Bertha Snider; a brother, Leden Barnes; and two grandchildren. Preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home, Woodbury.
