BLANCHE R. BOWSER

Of New Paris RD 2, died Monday, Sept. 4, 1978, in the home of her stepson, Roy Bowser. She was born March 6, 1914, in Mann Township, a daughter of Dossie and Nancy (Akers) Barnes, and was twice married, first to Blair Rose, who died in 1945, and then to Stanley Bowser, who died in 1972. Surviving are three children, Willis Rose of Pharr, Texas, Chester Rose, in Germany, and Mrs. Sara Baer of St. Clairsville; four step-children, Mrs. Mae Mucciola of Windber and Mrs. Doris Gorden, Mrs. Betty Ann Gorden, William R. Bowser and G. Roy Bowser, all of New Paris RD 2; 10 grandchildren and three brothers and a sister, Elden Barnes of Johnstown, Merle Barnes of East Freedom, Elmer Barnes of New Enterprise and Mrs. Bertha Snider of Armagh. Mrs. Bowser was a member of the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren and Goldora Rebekah Lodge. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, Pleasantville.

BOWSER -- Services for Mrs. Blanche R. Bowser of New Paris RD 2 will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, Pleasantville, by the Rev. John Foster. Interment in Berkey Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
