Mrs. N. Maye Barnes

Mrs. N. Maye Barnes of New Enterprise, R.D., died Sept. 13, 1963, in Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.

She was born May 7, 1884, near Akersville, Fulton County, a daughter of the late George W. and Rebecca (Hanks) Akers. On March 30, 1907, she was united in marriage to Dossie Barnes who preceded her in death in 1950. She is survived by the following children: Roy N., Brooks Mills; Alfred N., of New Enterprise R.D., with whom she made her home; Clarence A., Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. E. Blanche Rose of New Paris; Elden G., Mrs. Bertha R. Snider, both of Johnstown; Sherman D., State College, V. Merle, East Freedom, and Elmer H., New Enterprise R.D. Two children preceded her in death. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Goldie Wagner of Arcadia, Calif.

Mrs. Barnes was a member of Pine Grove Christian Church.

Funeral services: Monday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m. from the Pine Grove Christian Church, the Rev. Dorsey I. Pepple officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.

Friends are being received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Everett.

Couple Observes 43rd Wedding Anniversary

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Dossie Barnes was the scene of a family gathering Sunday, March 19, in honor of Mr. Barnes' 70th birthday anniversary March 22, and Mr. and Mrs. Barnes' 43rd wedding anniversary, which falls on March 30. A turkey dinner was served to the following:

Mr. and Mrs. Dossie Barnes and son Alfred, Roy Barnes and daughter Nell Louise, of Loysburg; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Snider and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Barnes, of Johnstown, Mrs. Blanche Rose and three children, of New Paris, Mr. and Mrs. Elden Barnes and two children, of Loysburg, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Barnes and two children, of Bakers Summit, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Barnes and son, of New Enterprise.

One son Clarence, of Santa Monica, Calif., was not present. Anniversary greetings were extended Mr. and Mrs. Barnes, with the hope that they would enjoy many more.
