Born April 19, 1887, in Cass Township, Fulton County, he was a son of Justus and Alice Anderson {sic, Henderson} Deakin and was married to Nellie P. Kaler Nov. 12, 1912, in Lewistown. She died Jan 15, 1972.
Surviving are three sons, Alan of Cuba, Gerald of Galesburg and Robert of Atkinson; four daughters, Mrs. Audrey Nebergall and Mrs. Mabel Graham, both of Fiatt, Mrs. Margaret Henderson, Smithfield, and Mrs. Shirley Wardell, Ellisville; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mr. Deakin was preceded in death by one son, three grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters.
Services were April 15 at Hukill-Henry Memorial Home in Cuba, the Rev. Phillip Hedgcock officiating.
Burial was in Cuba cemetery.
