Justus Deakin, retired farmer, prominent Cuba resident, died last evening at his home.
Born in Cass township, Jan. 25, 1860, a son of Justus and Margaret (Statler) Deakin, Sr,, he was married March 14, 1886 to Lavina Alice Henderson, who survives. Children are: Justus Lee, Ipava; Roy, Fiatt; Mrs. Mae Laughery, wife of Cuba mayor, C.E. Laughery; and Miss Josephine Deakin, Chicago. Mrs. Ann Murphy and Mrs. Elva Gray, both of near here, are sisters. There are ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Cuba Methodist church by the Rev. J.N. Van Cleave. Interment will be in Cuba cemetery.
