She was born April 21, 1918 at Rural Ipava, the daughter of Justus Lee and Nellie (Kaylor) Deakin. She first married H. H. Blakley. She later married Verle E. "Bud" Henderson and he died December 12, 1999.
Surviving are three sons, W.C. (Andrea) Blakley and Glenn (Judi) Blakley of Smithfield, and Larry Scott (Laura) Blakley of Ipava; one daughter, Nancy P. Blakley of Cuba; three stepsons, Ronald (Jean) Henderson of East Peoria, Donald (Dixie) Henderson of Moline, and Richard (Lois) Henderson of East Peoria; one sister, Mabel (Lawrence) Graham of Fiatt; one brother, Robert (Betty) Deakin of Silvis; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, and two sisters.
She worked seventeen years at Canton Manufacturing Company, and was a farm wife. She and her husband raised cattle and horses. She was very big on family and would do anything for her family. She enjoyed the farm and especially liked watching birds, and she was real fond of horses. She loved to travel with her sisters and others. She was a member of Cuba Christian Church.
Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery at Cuba.
