Find a Grave ID

Working Peoria County cemeteries. Photographed: Prospect, Chillicothe, Streitmatter, Saint Joseph Mooney, Blue Ridge, Resurrection Cemetery (outdoor burials), Saint Peters Lutheran Church Cemetery, Saint Johns Lutheran Cemetery, and Brunswick Cemetery. In Stark County - Saint Dominics Cemetery. In Marshall County - Saint Patrick Cemetery. In Tazewell County - Glendale Memorial Gardens.

I am now working the historic Springdale Cemetery, the final resting place of 70,000 souls (give or take). It's beginning to look like 25% of those (17,000 to 18,000) are buried without a marker. To save the volunteer photographers the frustration of looking for a marker, I'm attempting to get those memorials labeled. Having searched only to find no marker is no fun.

Have 100% photographed Division A, The Willows, Forrest Lawn, Woodland Heights, Front Lawn, Chapel View, Mt. Sinai, Mt. Hope, Washington Heights, Resurrection, Masonic Garden, Last Supper, Sermon on the Mount, Gethsemane, Good Shepherd, Valley View, Hillcrest Division, Garden of Memories, Glen Division / Glen Ext., Hickory Slope / Ext., Lawn Division, Fairview Lawn (with embedded Orchard Hill and Summit Range), and Edgewood grave markers in Springdale. Working the North Division, and North Center now.

Many - many thanks to Mel Slane for finding in excess of 10,000 obituaries, primarily for Springdale memorials!

And a huge appeciation to Debra for all of her assistance, insight and collaborative help in Springdale.

And many thanks to Ethel for flushing out and transcribing obituaries for Peoria and Stark County memorials!

Photographer A D Roger has photographed and uploaded images for all of Sunset Terrace, Middle Valley, Boulder Valley, Valley of Devotion, Rose Hill, and Old Public Lots. He's also photographed all of the Mausoleum.

I would like to tip my hat to those intrepid volunteers that take photographs in cemeteries. Getting a good photo is not easy! The angle of the sun, clouds, grass clippings, over grown weeds, etc. If you want to upload a picture to a memorial I've created, let me know and I'll request one! Photographers deserve as much reward as they can get!

If you make edit suggestions, I do investigate every suggestion before accepting. I do not accept suggestions, where the only source is an ancestry tree. Documentation is required.

Please do not ask me to link a memorial to burial "unknown." This web site is for the known dispostion of the remains. Let's keep it that way.

The Armed Service definitions of retired and veterans; are as follows:
Retired personnel do not resign their ranks and are are never technically separated from their Service.
Whereas, veterans do resign their rank and are separated from the service.

A few things I've learned...
Social Security Indexes can be off.
Death certificates are good for date and location of death (other info on death certificate is advisory).
Birth certificate is the best source for date of birth, location, and parents.
Info from headstones is also advisory too. Headstones are sometimes put in place decades later by descendants and errors are made.
