Ethel Lucille Lucas, 68, 700 S. Milton St., Rensselaer, died Monday, Aug. 27 at 3:20 p.m.
She died at the Jasper County Hospital after a short illness. She was a resident of Rensselaer since 1956 and also live in Wolcott.
Born Oct. 5, 1915 in Independence, Iowa, she was the daughter of Bascom R. and Lillian I.(Houck) Allie. She graduated from Wolcott High School with the class of 1934. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, Wolcott chapter, and Phi Iota Psi.
She married Gordon Ralph Lucas Oct. 11, 1940 in Delphi, Ind. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Gordon, and child, Jan Scott Lucas of Kouts, and two grandchildren, Lori Ann and Jason Scott, survive.
Also surviving are five sisters and two brothers; Helen M. Critser, of Renssleaer; Edith (Mrs. David) Dellinger, of Monticello; Irene (Mrs. Eugene) Oberlander, of Wolcott; Frances (Mrs. George) Logan, of Brookston; Rosemary (Mrs. James) Young, of Brookston; Raymond Allie, of Wolcott; and Robert Allie, of Wolcott. One sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Jackson Funeral Chapel after 3 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m.at Jackson's with the Rev. Harry McCorkel officiating. Interment will be at Remington Cemetery.
