Gerald Beets, 55, Fairway, died July 27, 1972 at home, apparently of a heart attack. He was born in Hillsdale, and had lived in the Kansas City area since 1944. Mr. Beets was a carpenter for the Bendix Corporation before retiring six years ago. He was a member of the First Lutheran church in Prairie Village. He was also a member of the Dwight Cowles Post of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, both in Overland Park.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Beets, of the home; a son, Duane D. Beets, Stanley; six brothers, Max Beets, Olathe; Fred Beets, Spearfish, S.D; Robert Beets, Washington, DC; Tex Beets, Paola, and Bill Beets and Kenneth Beets, both of Hillsdale, and four sisters, Mrs. Vivian Mays, Mrs. Pauline Smith and Mrs. Majorie Boehm, all of Hillsdale, and Mrs. Clara Jean Merrill, Logan, Utah.

Services were at 10 am Saturday, July 29, at the church. Burial was in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Olathe.
