Marjorie R. Boehm, 81, lifelong resident of the Hillsdale area, died early Thursday morning, Nov. 25, 1993, at the Country Haven Nursing Center in Paola, where she made her home.

The daughter of Fred and Clara Dunn Beets, she was born at Hillsdale, on July 17, 1912.

She was married to Lloyd Boehm on Jan. 6, 1936, in Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Boehm was a homemaker. She was known for baking homemade rolls and candy.

She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its Altar Society in Paola.

Surviving are her son, Laurence Boehm, and daughter, Rita Lentz, both of Hillsdale; two brothers, Fred Beets, Jr. of Spearfish, S.D., and Bill Beets of Hillsdale; two sisters, Pauline Smith of Hillsdale and Jean Merrill of Logan, Utah; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

A prayer service was at 7:30 pm Sunday at the Wilson and Son Chapel in Paola. The funeral Mass was at 10 am today, Monday, at the church, with the Rev. Earl Dekat officiating. Judy Jeck was the organist, and Janet Straley was the soloist. The songs included "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace."

Burial was in the Holy Cross Cemetery, rural Paola. Pallbearers were Greg Lawrence, Keith Lawrence, Mike Boehm, Dan Boehm, Steve Boehm and Curt Franke.

Memorials have been established in her name to the church or to the Country Haven Nursing Home Activity Fund.
