Max Beets, 68, died Thursday, July 14, 1982, at his home in Olathe.

Known as Pete, he was born Nov. 21, 1913, in Miami County, son of the late Fred and Clara Dunn Beets.

Aug. 8, 1935, he was married to Elizabeth Coburn in Paola.
He had lived in Olathe most of his life. Mr. Beets was a mechanic for 20 years and later worked for the Delco-Remy Division of the General Motors Corporation for 10 years before retiring.

He was a member of the Hillsdale Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Beets of the home in Olathe; a daughter, Miss Betty Beets of Paola; a son, Vernon Beets of Grandview, Mo; four brothers, Rex Beets of Paola, Kenneth Beets and Bill Beets of Hillsdale, and Fred Beets of Spearfish, S.D.; three sisters, Mrs. Majorie Boehm and Mrs. Pauline Smith of Paola, and Mrs. Jean Merrill of Logan, Utah, and two grandchildren.

Three brothers and a sister also preceded him in death.
Services were held at 10:30am., Saturday, at the Wilson & Son Chapel in Paola. The Rev. Paul Kapp officiated. Music was provided by Mrs. Sally Richardson at the organ and Mrs. Leona Smith.

Burial was in the Hillsdale Cemtery. Paulbearers were Keith Mayes, Laurence Boehm, Gary Smith, Jim Beets, Don Beets, Kenneth Beets, Duane Beets and Cameron Mott.
