Senora "Nora" York was a daughter of Rev. R. Brantley York and his second wife Mary Wells Lineberry. She married Dr. William Joseph Clontz, of Alexander, Buncombe County, NC.

Dr. and Mrs. Clontz had five children: Diora Victoria Clontz (23 Jan. 1881-28 June 1973, Mrs. Morris), Virginia Wells Clontz (19 Sept. 1883-21 July 1884), Annie M. Clontz (April 1885-?), Janie K. Clontz (26 Feb. 1888-5 Sept. 1909), William Eugene Clontz (11 July 1893-9 June 1945, m. Nell Sluder).
