Mary Lucretia YORK is the fifth born child of eleven children of Rev Brantley YORK, DD and his second wife Mary Wells LINEBERRY. Although Mary was born in Randolph County, she is found living with her parents in Iredell County, North Carolina in the 1850 U S Census as a young child. Only speculation can describe what may have transpired with the young girl. Mary Lucretia YORK is not found in subsequent census reports nor any location of a tombstone in Iredell County. Therefore a memorial is being established with an estimated age of 8 as a cenotaph to honor her in this cemetery where many other York family are buried.
