Mrs. Marie Louis (Tardif) Bernier, 81, of 821 South Main Street, widow of the late Alfred Benedict Bernier, died yesterday at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Eusebe Tardif and Celina (Nadeau) Tardif.
She is survived by one son, Albert B. Bernier of Fall River and six daughters, Mrs. Martin Powers, Mrs. John Friery, Mrs. Richard Reed, Mrs. Guy Barnes, this city and Mrs. Cecile Foley, North Tiverton, RI and Mrs. Edwin Bligh of Boston and one brother Albert Tardif of Astonia, NY, 16 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several neices and nephews.
Her funeral was held from the Boule Funeral Home, 615 Broadway on a Wednesday morning with a high mass of requiem in St. Anne's Church at 8 AM.

Alfred and Marie Louise Tardif immigrated from Canada in the late 1880's. They married in Fall River on 02-19-1900. Alfred was employed in a Cotton Mill as a Stationary Fireman and Marie Louise a Spinner.

A tough lady with a kind heart. I can still remember her just before she died, and I was only three. I guess she left an impression on a young mind.
