Mother of four, grandmother of eight and many great grandchildren. In August 1998 at age 88 she underwent open heart surgery to save her life. She said"cure me or kill me." The goal of the surgery was a success. Her heart was now strong. We believe she suffered a stroke and was placed on a ventilator from August 1998 thru February 1999. After being weaned off the ventilator, she was breathing on her own. Our hope was for her to be able to speak to us. This was never realized. She passed into eternity On Saturday at 8:55 PM on May 1, 1999, surrounded by her family.

The agonizing part for the family, of her illness, was not being able to communicate with her in words. We could only try to read her eyes and facial expressions. I was the last to leave her room the night before her surgery. I gave her a hug, a kiss, and told her that I loved her. She returned the words and embrace with the love she always bestowed upon me, all my life. It's never to late to tell someone how you feel. Her wish was to buried along side her parents, the late Alfred and Louise Marie (Tardif) where she now rests in peace.

Cecile was the wife of the late James F. Foley, Jr. whom she married on 10-13-1930 in Fall River, Ma. Her parents are the late Alfred & Marie Louise (Tardif) Bernier and her grandparents, the late Stanislaus & Malvina (Gagnon) Bernier and the late Eusebe & Celina (Nadeau) Tardif.

Cecile is survived by Anne Sewell of Kings Park, NY, Edward F. Foley of Fall River, MA and the late Marilyn A. (Foley) Raposa and the late James F. Foley. Her grandchildren are James Foley of Fairhaven, MA, Kenneth J. Raposa formerly of Everett, MA, now Fall River, MA, Gary Foley of North Dartmouth, MA, Joanne Renna of Smithtown, NY, Lori Ann Albernaz of Tiverton, RI, Roxanne Morrison of Richmond, CA, the late Brian Foley of Fall River, MA and the late Michael Foley. She is also survived by many great and great great grandchildren.
