1. Helen I. Overlander, 82, of Mendon died at 12:15 A.M. Monday (Dec. 17, 2001) in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Born Aug. 17, 1919, in Hancock County, she was a daughter of Howard and Hazel Barnard Boyer. She married Herbert L. Overlander in 1963 in Missouri Ozarks. He survives.
Mrs. Overlander was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Ursa and had been a member of the Mendon Helping Hands Club and volunteered as a Geronteer at North Adams Home at Mendon.
Mrs. Overlander retired from Motorola in Quincy after 21 years of employment.
Also surviving are three sons, Ronald G. Miller of Phoenix, Raymond L. Miller of Columbia, Mo. and Richard L. Miller of Mendon; a stepdaughter, Rose Huffaker of Tempe, Ari.; four brothers, Vernon of Hamilton, Leon Boyer of Adrian and Bill7y and Jimmy Boyer, both of Carthage; two sisters, Wilda Neal and Thelma Pirtle, both of Washington; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Overlander was preceded in death by a son, Robert W. Miller; a brother, Hubert Boyer; a sister Betty Henson; and a grandson, Michael W. Miller.
Services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Thursday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon by the Rev. Jack Predue. Burial will be in the Mendon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Today in the Hunter Funeral Hom.
