William George, 80, of Springfield, formerly of Portsmouth, died Sunday at Springfield Hospital.
He was a native of Paintsville, Ky.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nell E. George; six sons, Billy of Cincinnati, Frank of Xenia, Dale of Tiffin, Walter of San Francisco, Calif.; Forrest and Virgil, both of Springfield; Four daughters, Mrs. Ferne Sammons of Dayton and Mrs. Essie Mae Tritle, Mrs. Rosalie Swopte, and Mrs. Katherine Wikoff all of Springfield; a brother, Edgar of West Portsmouth, a sister, Mrs. Dixie Myers of Columbus; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday at Jackson, Lytle and Coffman Funeral home in Springfield with Rev. S. Edward Johnson officiating. Burial is to be held at 2 p.m. at Rushtown Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
