Virgil M. George
73, of Sarasota, FL., died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 1984, in Doctor's Hospital, Sarasota, following six months of illness. He was born on September 18, 1819, in Portsmouth, OH, a son of William and Nell (Hill) George. He had been a Florida resident for the past ten years. Survivors include his wife, Catherine; one son, William E. "Bill" George, Springfield; four brothers, Bill George, Rosswell, GA., Walter George, San Francisco, CA., Frank and Dale George, both of Russells Point, OH; three sisters, Rosalee Landess and Essie Tritle, both of Springfield, and Fern Sammons, Huber Heights, OH; four grandchildresn, Lori Ann George, Susan Louise Mosley, Jeanette Ann George, and Michael William George, all of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by two brothers and one sister. His body was brought to the Austin Richards and Raff Memorial Home where there will be no visitation. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Memorial Home with Rev. Randall F. Peters, associate pastor of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiation. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Pall bearers include: Frank L., Paul, and Raymond George, Brian Sammons, Mark Tritle, and Ralph Wikoff.
