Death at 5 a.m. Tuesday claimed Mrs. Sarah Dixon George, 71, widow of Green George, of Valley View, at the home of her son, Carl George, of City View. Mrs. George had been bedfast for the last five weeks and death was due to complications and infirmities. She had been in ill health since the death of her husband, Green George, Oct. 15, 1934.
Mrs. George was a pioneer resident of this county and was a member of the Oldtown M.E. Church. She was the mother of 10 children, eight of whom are living.
She is survived by these children, Mrs. J.P. Weber and William George of Sciotoville, Bert and Edgar George of Valley View, Carl and Robert George of City View, Mrs. Dixie Doll of 218 Court Street and John C. George proprietor of the American restaurant. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Minnie Able of Youngstown, and a brother, Robert Dixon of Louisa, Ky.
Funeral services will be held at Oldtown M.E. Church at 2 p.m., Thursday. Rev. William Boehnker will conduct the services and interment will be in Rushtown Cemetery under the direction of Windel-Howland. The body will be taken to the home of Carl George of City View, Tuesday afternoon, where friends may view it.
