Services held for R. N. Elliott
R. N. Elliott, 77, lifelong resident of Lucas and Marion counties, died at Lucas County Memorial Hospital Saturday. He had been in failing health for three years.
He is survived by eight daughters, Mrs. Ethal Pierce , Mrs. Thelma Rafferty, Mrs. Daisie Clark, Mrs. Helen Sims and Mrs. Mary Ann Gold of Clarinda and Mrs. Beverly Buckalew of Hamburg; two sons, Robert Elliott of Las Vella, Ariz. and Raymond W. Elliott of Newton; 36 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Fluke and Mrs. Martha Wishart both of Chariton.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today at the Miley Chapel with the Rev. J. Edward Quick conducting. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Fielding Funeral Home.

Elliott
Robert Nisley Elliott, the youngest son of Robert and Catherine (Wyand) Elliott, was born March 21, 1899 on a farm in Lucas County, Ia. He passed away on March 13, 1976 at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital at Chariton, having reached the age of 77 years, 11 months and 22 days.
On February 16, 1920, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Fern Rohrer. To this union ten children were born, eight daughters and two sons. They are: Mrs. Ethel Pierce, Chariton; Mrs. Thelma Raffety, Chariton; Mrs. Beulah Beadle, Williamson; Daisie Clark, Chariton; Mrs. Helen Sims, Chariton; Mrs. Mary Ann Gold, Clarinda; Mrs. Beverly Buckalew, Hamburg; Mrs. Myrtle Hamilton, Chariton Robert N. Elliott, Jr., Las Vegas; Raymond W. Elliott, Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Tom Elliott.
Survivors include his children, seven sons-in-law; two daughters-in-law; thirty-eight grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Fluke and Mrs. Martha Wishart, both of Chariton.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. Edward Quick, at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at the Miley Chapel. Interment was in the Zion Cemetery.
