Rites Held Today for Mrs. Fern Elliott, 62
Services were held today at 2 p.m. at the Miley Chapel for Mrs. Fern Elliott, 62, who died unexpectedly at the Collins hospital in Knoxville Sunday evening.
Mrs. Elliott resided north of Knoxville for the past five years and was a former resident of Pleasant township.
The Rev. Paul Beals officiated with interment in the Zion cemetery, Survivors are her husband, Robert and ten children, Mrs. Earl Reffety, Mrs. Daisy Clark, Mrs. Leland Sims, Mrs. Bob Hamilton, all of Chariton; Mrs. Everett Pierce of Osceola; Mrs. Dwaine Beadle, Newton, Mrs. Bill Gold, Hamburg, Mrs. Clyde Buckalew, Grimes, Robert Elliott, jr., Newton and Raymond Elliott, Knoxville.
Other survivors are three sisters and two brothers.

Elizabeth Elliott
Elizabeth Fern Elliott, youngest daughter of William P. and Martha Niseley Rohrer, was born in Green county on Jan 20, 1901, and passed away from this life at Collins Memorial hospital Nov. 30, 1963, at the age of 62 years, 10 months and 10 days.
When a small child she moved to Des Moines in 1903 at the age of six years, then to Lucas county in 1909 where she lived with the exception of the last six years. She made her home in Knoxville. On Feb. 16, 1920, she was united in marriage to Robert Nisley Elliott in Chariton. They resided in Lucas county until January, 1958, when they moved to Knoxville where the remainder of her life was spent. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
To this union 10 children were born: Ethel Pierce of Osceola; Thelma Raffety, Chariton; Beulah Beadle of Newton; Daisy Clark, Chariton; Helen Sims of Chariton; Robert Elliott, jr., Newton; Mary Ann Gold, Hamburg; Beverly Buckalew, Grimes; Myrtle Hamilton, Chariton and Raymond Elliott, Knoxville.
Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her passing three sisters, Mrs. Edna Chambers, Inglewood, Calif., Lula Mayo, Boone; Mrs. Daisy Lorens, Fr. Dodge; two brothers, Art Rohrer, Knoxville, and Guy Rohrer, Onawa; seven sons-in-law, 36 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Miley Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Beals officiating. Interment was in Zion cemetery.
