Ada and Alton met when Alton was a Principal at Comyn School. Ada attended Howard Payne College and John Tarleton College. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree and and A Masters Degree from Texas A & M Universoty at Commerce. Alton was class of 1928 at Texas A & M Univeristy in College Station, Texas. He was an AG teacher at Marshall and Whitesboro, Texas. The county agricultural agent in Bowie and Hopkins County. Ada taught school for over 30 years. Ada & Alton are both buried in Sulphur Springs.

They lived in New Boston when Mary Henry was a child.

Her second marriage was to a Daniel Reuel/Ruell Bonner.
