Jesse Kermit was born the fourth son and sixth child of Papa Jesse and Mama Pearl. He grew up in Comyn and was a hard working man. His life was also full of chance. He met his lifelong love one day when he accidentally ran her off the road while on a business trip. They were married within two weeks and never looked back. JK was an insurance man and had a stubborn streak. An accident took one of his eyes (replaced with a glass one), but he didn’t let is slow him down. In fact, when the call went out for soldiers during WWII, he insisted they take him in spite of his injury. He served the war effort as a PFC in the Army Air Corps for almost two years. Later, he returned to his family in southern Texas. He and his wife had four kids (two of each) and several grandkids. In retirement, JK returned to his roots by buying a farm in his wife’s hometown in Arkansas. He was a man of principle, a go getter, and a firm believer in education. Jesse Kermit was well loved in life and sore missed in death.
