Isaac Long I was the son of
Rev. George W. Long I and
Nancy Elizabeth 'Maples' Long.

Isaac Long was married first
to a woman in Tennessee, name
not known at this time. It's
believed he had at least three
children w/this wife. There
is no other info on this
marriage at this time.

He married Rebecca 'Rowland'
Perkins on the 26 of March,
1839, in McMinn County, Tennessee.
To this union there
were 6 known children: Louisa,
Alexender, Angeline, Calvin,
Franklin Russell, and Andrew
Posey Long. Isaac had two daughters,
Nancy and Margaret, also a son, named
Levi with his first wife. Rebecca came
into the marriage with 2 children from
her first marriage. A son and a daughter.

Rebecca Long, his wife, is buried in
the Long Cemetery, Stone County,
Arkansas., as is some of their grown
children and spouse'. This is located
on their old home place in Stone
County.


1850 U.S. Federal Census; Isaac Long I
family was living in Lookout Valley,
Walker Co., Georgia. Later in 1858,
he moved his family to Harris Township
in Izard County, Arkansas. At this time,
her two children and his three children
from their first marriages aren't listed
in the U. S. Census.
Early in the Civil War, a group of outlaws,
called Bushwachers came to Isaac's
farm in Stone County, Arkansas. They
destroyed everything.
Isaac was beaten severely and left
for dead. He even heard the men
say, "well boy's, all he lacks of
being dead is laying the quarters
on his eyes." After Isaac recovered
from the beating, he moved his family
to Missiouri.

Isaac Long I served in the Union,
during the Civil War. He enlisted
in Rolla, Missouri and served about
one year when he became very ill.
Isaac died in the Hickory Street
General Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.
It is noted that his older brother, John
Long II and his family lived in Lookout
Valley, Walker Co., Georgia. Some of the
descendants of John Long II family are
still living in Georgia today.

Isaac's brother, Maples Long and his family
lived in Arkansas, Boone Co., moving
from the old family home place in Sevier
Co., Tn., where Maples and sibblings
were raised with their parents, Rev.
George W. Long I and Nancy Elizabeth
'Maples.' Later, Maples Long raised his
family in his father's old homeplace,
in Sevier Co., Tennessee till they moved
to Arkansas in Sept., 1857. Isaac's
brother Levi Long and James Long
also had lived in Walker County,
Ga., where their brother, John Long II
lived with his family.
Isaac, James, and Levi all moved their
families to Arkansas. Isaac owned a
farm in Stone Co., and had donated land
for a family cemetery. His wife, Rebecca and
3 of their son's are buried in the old
homeplace cemetery. His sister, Ruth 'Long'
Gorman lived in Willard, Greene Co., Missouri
w/her family. Ruth and her husband David are
buried in the Rose Hill Cemetery, on the old
homeplace of her nephew, Rev. George Long III.
The cemetery is sitting beside the newer
building of the Rose Hill Baptist Church that
her nephew, Rev. George Long III started.
Isaac's brother, Maples Long and his wife,
Mahala 'Atchley' Long and some of their
children and family are buried in the 'Long'
cemetery in Boone Co., Arkansas on Maples
Long old farm place.
Rev. Robert H. Long another nephew also
preached at the Rose Hill Baptist Church
at one time. Some of the decsendants of
Rev. George Long III are still attending
the church. The 'Long' reunion is held each
year at the church, with many of the 'Long's'
attending.

NOTE: Isaac Long I at this date, Aug., 27, 09 has
great grandchildren living. Raymon Long still
is still living in Arkansas, and two sisters
of Raymon's.
Raymon Long was the son of Lewis Long, Lewis
the son of Calvin Long, Isaac's son. The two
sisters of Raymon is still living at this
time; 2014.

Isaac Long's brother, John Long II named
a son after him, Isaac Long II. A great amount
of research has been completed on Isaac Long II.
Isaac II also lived and died in Missouri.

Isaac Long I was a member of the Missionary
Baptist Church.
