Letitia Sinclair Flaningam, also known as Latitia Flaningan, Flanigan and buried with the name Lutitia Flannigan on her headstone.

Letitia was the second wife of Arison Crecelius (middle name is proven by documentation-deed in Greene County Indiana when he purchased land) Flaningam (born in New Jersey and married in 1826 to Mary Crecelius who died Jan 1828 in Harrison County Indiana presumably from childbirth). Letitia and Arison were married in Harrison County, Indiana on 11 Aug 1828.

In 1844 Arison Sr. purchased 40 acres of land near Bloomfield in Greene County Indiana, where several of Letitia's brothers and cousins were living; then went to Louisiana where their son Nelson Edward was born in 1847. In 1850 the family was again in Indiana living in Knox County but Arison Sr also owned land at the same time in Burleson County Texas. He was enumerated on the 1850 agricultural census in Burleson County Texas as having 75 acres of improved land and 325 acres of unimproved land with a small handful of livestock, and the family was also enumerated on the 1850 census in Knox County, Indiana and were on a farm. It appears this family was going back and forth between Indiana and Texas by way of Louisiana. By 1852 the family headed west for the last time to Burleson County, Texas.

On July 4, 1864 we find Arison registered as a voter in Burleson County Texas, and he states he has been in the State and the County for 12 years.

Letitia and her known children, Arison Crecelius Flaningam Jr, James H, Sarah Ann, William R., Nelson Edward and George Washington, followed Letitia's husband on his trek across Indiana, down to Louisiana, back to Indiana and then into Texas during one of the roughest periods in Texas history.

Due to strong circumstantial evidence, location, naming of the children, the Crecelius family connection to the Sharp family and time elements, Letitia has been determined to be one of the two "missing" children of George Washington Sinclair and Rachel Sharp of Harrison County, Indiana. Her obituary does not give much information and the Texas descendants have been working to find other information on the Flaningam family.

George Sinclair was born in Bedford County Virginia to Isaac and Letitia Sinclair, who migrated with his parents and several siblings to Wayne County Kentucky where he met his first wife, Rachel Sharp, daughter of William Sharp and Ruth Hinds/Hines.

By 1820 the Sharp and Sinclair families were in Harrison County Indiana on the Big Blue River near Corydon. Letitia shows up on the 1820 census as the only, and oldest, female over 10 and under 16.
