Clarence Meekins was born on September 16, 1895 in Toano, Powhatan, James City County, Virginia. The sixth child of twelve children born to Jefferson and Alice Meekins, Sr.

According to the story that my father John Meekins told me was that his uncle Clarence was employed at the Bethlehem Steel Company, he married a woman named Catherine who was also born in Virginia, but on the 1930's Federal Census, Clarence and Catherine listed his brother William's daughter, his eight year old niece Phyllis E. Meekins as their daughter because they were raising her after her mother Mabelle Meekins passed away in April 1927. My father told me that Clarence resided in and he passed away in Baltimore, Maryland and that he was also buried there. His wife Catherine's maiden name is unknown which is why I was unable to locate either one of their marriage certificates, their death certificates, their obituaries or the cemetery that they were buried in.

How ever I did find the last two documents for Clarence and one for Catherine. The first document was for the Baltimore, Maryland United States Federal Census in 1940 which stated that Catherine was a resident and the second document for Clarence stated that he was a resident but that he was widowed also on the 1940 census therefore Catherine either passed away right before or during the 1940 census or maybe she passed away before that during the late 1930's. The third document was two years later for Clarence's 1942 United States World War ll Draft Registration Card signed and dated by Clarence on April 27, 1942. The last two documents are proof that at age 46 Clarence was still alive and living in Baltimore in 1942. It's hard to say when he passed away but my guess would be after 1942 and before I was born in 1956. I think it's strange that those are the last three documents for the both of them and it's as if something out of the ordinary happened to them but to me it seems like they both just dropped off the face of the Earth.

Clarence and Catherine Meekins had no children.

Note:
Clarence and his brother Carlo both share the same date of birth on September 16th.
