Baby Jefferson Davis Meekins, Jr. was the last child of twelve children born on July 20, 1914 in Toano, Powhatan, James City County, Virginia. But... born to "only one parent." Jefferson Meekins, Sr. or Alice Meekins? They are both listed as the parents of Baby Jeff Jr. But... which one is the biological parent? The birth certificate states that Baby Jeff Jr. is a half sibling to the eleven children of Jefferson and Alice Meekins, Sr.

The death certificate for Baby Jeff Jr. states that he became ill on July 28, 1914 when he was eight days old, he passed away two days later on July 30, 1914 at 7:30 p.m. at just ten days old. His cause of death was Gastroenteritist Intoxication. He was buried the next day on July 31, 1914 at Chickahominy Baptist Church Cemetery in Toano, James City County, Virginia.

Jefferson Davis Meekins Sr. is listed as the undertaker on the death certificate for Baby Jeff Jr. which clearly means that there was no funeral home involved and that Jeff Sr. prepared the grave and buried Baby Jeff Jr. himself.
