Carlo Meekins, 71, of New York City, formerly of Toano, James City County, Virginia died Friday, April 24, 1971 in New York.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Francina Meekins; one daughter, Mrs. Valorie Hunt of New York City; three brothers, Fred Meekins and Wardell Meekins of Baltimore, Maryland and Earley Meekins, Sr. of Long Branch, New Jersey; and one grandchild.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Chickahominy Baptist Church, Toano, James City County, Virginia by the Rev. Thomas Wynn. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

I was unable to locate any other information for Valorie's mother; Carey or Carrie. But according to uncle Albert Meekins, Valorie and her child were both still alive and residing in New York City in 2015 because he was in touch with them before he passed away in April 2016. In April 2021 I found Valorie was listed as residing at a previous address in Chester, Pennsylvania and her telephone number.
