Former Resident Given Last Rites
GEORGE M. WICKER IS BURIED HERE
George M. Wicker, former resident of Sandersville, died Wednesday morning at his home in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was 78 years old.
Mr. Wicker was a native of Sandersville and lived here for many years. He resided in Florida for a number of the latter years of his life and for the past two made his home in Vidalia with his sister, Miss Annie Wicker.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George P. Moore, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. W.J. Jasper, Norfolk, Va.; one brother, Lee W. Wicker, Miami, Fla.; one sister, Miss Annie Wicker, Vidalia.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at Sandersville Christian Church with the Rev. E.G. Orahood officiating. Burial was in the Sandersville City cemetery.
Pallbearers were Samuel Donovan, E. Pierce Wood, C.B. Cooley, A.W. Smith, C.F. Irwin, Sr., and Charles L. Darling of Vidalia.
Mr. Wicker had a large number of friends and relatives in Sandersville and Washington County and was well-known here. The Sandersville Funeral Home was in charge.
