Miss Annie Wicker Dies In Vidalia
Miss Annie Elizabeth Wicker, proprietor of the Dixie Hotel in Vidalia, died Friday morning in a Vidalia hospital, following a long illness.
She was a member of Sanderville Baptist Church and had lived in Vidalia for the past 30 years.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Vidalia Baptist Church. The Rev. Joe Springer officiated, assisted by the Rev. Will Nelson. Burial was in Sandersville cemetery.
Survivors are one brother, L.W. Wicker, Miami, Fla., nine nieces, Mrs. L.P. McGee of Atlanta, Mrs. J.S. Hendrick, Valdosta, Mrs. W.A. Chapman, Vidalia, Mrs. Forrest Wright, Augusta, Mrs. Lucille Thames, Milledgeville, Mrs. George P. Moore, Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. W.J. Jasper, Norfolk, Va., and Mrs. Adrian Wood, of Seattle, Washington.
Seven nephews, the Rev. Jones Tyler, Berkley, Calif., Richard Tyler, Macon, J.H. Tyler, Sandersville, P.A. Wicker, Atlanta, J.B. Wicker, of Milledgevile, Cotis Wicker, Valdosta, and George Donovan, Vidalia; and several great nieces and nephews.
A sister-in-law, Mrs. T.A. Wicker, of Sandersville and Sam and William Donovan of Sandersville are two of the great nephews.
