༻✿ John was the son of William Hon and Cora S. Heare Powell.
John married Edith Rachael Hale Powel, whom everyone called Aunt Racheal, on May 23, 1914 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio at the Methodist parsonage.
Known children of John and Edith Rachael Hale Powel:
1) Cora Alice Powell, born August 28, 1915, Lawrenceville, Ohio, died in 1994;
2) Miriam Powell, born March 4, 1917, Lawrenceville, Ohio, deceased;
3) Thomas Herman Powell, born June 1, 1919, Springfield, Clark County, Ohio, deceased.
He was a devoted husband, father, and son. He made sure G-Grandma Cora never did without and paid most of her bills. He knew how much his mother loved candied ginger and would always send her some from California.
G-Uncle John worked as a life insurance rep. For State Farm Insurance, and he took a position in San Diego, California and was the number one rep. in the state of California.
G-Uncle John is greatly loved and missed. May he find rest and peace with God.

Gravesite Details
We believe John's remains are at the mausoleum. He was cremated. It is in question if his wishes were carried out to be sprinkled in the Pacific Ocean. His remains may be in storage. We cannot determine this at this time.
