Rhodhiss, N.C. – Made Lawson Berry, 68, of 102 River Road, Rhodhiss, N.C., died Wednesday (Dec. 6, 1995) at Valdese General Hospital, Valdese, N.C. following an extended illness.
She was a native of Hawkins County, and had lived in Rhoshiss, N.C. for the past 26 years.
She was of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie Helton Lawson.
Surviving are her husband, Mr. Mack R. Berry, of the home; eight daughters, Linda Watson, Hutson, N.C., Carolyn Hilton and Lisa Norton, both of Hickory, N.C., Shelly Loaman and Milisa Melly, both of Rhodhiss, N.C., Vicky Yunt, Hildabrand, N.C., Sharon Skelton, Church Hill, and Janet Berry, of the home; two sons, Johnny Berry, Church Hill, and Mck Berry, Granite Falls, N.C.; 38 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Ollie Lawson, Rogersville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the residence of Betty Lawson, Lloyds Chapel Road, Church Hill.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gerald Hopkins officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Mount Mitchell Cemetery.
