Carolyn V. Hilton

Mrs. Carolyn Vernell Hilton, 55, Icard, N.C., died Tuesday (Sept. 5, 2006) at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Hilton was born February 14, 1951 in Sullivan County, Tenn., to the late Mack and Madge Lawson Berry. She was of the Baptist faith and retired from the textile industry.

Surviving is her husband, Charles Wayne Hilton, of the home; seven daughters, Jamie Paulene Berry, Valdese, N.C., Tammy Michell Geske, of the home, Billie Jo Hilton, Janet Leann Hilton and Racheal Leigh Hilton, all of Hickory, N.C., Rosie Marie Beam, Vale, N.C., and Charley Rhonda Fay Ledford, Connelly Springs, N.C.; son, Robert Ralph Roller, Shelby, N.C.; two brothers, Jonny Darrel Berry, Kingsport, Tenn., Mack Eldredge Berry, Granite Falls, N.C.; six sisters, Linda Kay Watson and Shelly Patrese Glazebrook, Hudson, N.C., Alesa Fay Norton, Mt. View, N.C., Vickey Diane Yount and Janet Lynne Berry, both of Granite Falls, N.C., and Sharron Marie Maubin, Kingsport, Tenn.; 21 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at Moriah Baptist Church, 3007 Old Shelby Rd., Hickory, N.C.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Moriah Baptist Church, Hickory, N.C., with Rev. Bill Ashe officiating.

Memorials may be made to Palliative Care Center & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, N.C. 28658.
