Rev. Ollie Lawson

ROGERSVILLE -- Rev. Ollie Lawson , 77, 306 Harmon Drive, died Monday morning (Aug. 24, 1998) at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

He was a member of McClouds Missionary Baptist Church. He was ordained as a minister in 1952 at Maple Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Lawson; a daughter, Kathleen Marie Lawson; a grandson, Michal Louis Buchanan; his father, John Lawson; his mother, Ailsie Lawson; a sister, Madge Berry; brothers, Hugh Lawson, John Lawson, Jess Lawson, Clen Lawson and Mack Lawson.

Surviving are his wife, Cornie Herron Lawson, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Rev. Ray Weatherly, Kingsport, Sue and G.B. Greene, Mooresburg, and Brenda and Rev. Ted Riner, Rogersville; three stepdaughters, Peggy Pearson, Rogersville, Christina Boggs, Kingsport, and Frankie Rogers, Rogersville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville, or anytime at the residence, 306 Harmon Drive, Rogersville, or at his daughter and son-in-law, Rev. Ted and Brenda Riner's residence, 618 Old Stage Road, Rogersville. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. John Parrott Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Dean Cemetery.
