William Wiegert

William Carl Wiegert, son of Christoph and Mary Wiegert, was born in Des Plaines, Cook County, Ill., Nov. 10, 1864. Soon after his birth he was baptized, and he was confirmed in 1878.

Oct. 22, 1879, he came with his parents to Lincoln County. Here he became affiliated with St. Johns Lutheran church, of which he remained a faithful member to the end of his earthly pilgrimage.

Dec. 8, 1886, he entered the holy estate of matrimony with Lena Schack. This union was blessed with seven children, three sons and four daughters, one son preceding the father into eternity. On July 17, 1915, he was bereft of his wife.

Sept. 5, 1918, he was united in marriage to Wilhelmina Wolting, who after a lingering illness was also taken from his side Jan. 4, 1932.

On Nov. 13, 1933, he entered the estate of holy matrimony with Nora Bishop.

For about 14 years the deceased had been ailing, his condition growing worse from time to time until he was more or less helpless during his last years. However, under the efficient and diligent care of his devoted wife and the help of God he carried his burden without complaint until he peacefully fell asleep in Jesus May 13 at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 3 days.

He leaves to mourn his death his bereaved widow, two sons, four daughters, three brothers, four sisters and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 16, at his home and continued at the St. Johns Lutheran church.
